Fabra i Coats, central space of the fourth edition of the games festival DAU
Five spaces of the district of San Andreu equipment much welcome the program of activities of the fourth edition of the contest, to be held on 12 and 13 December
Although this year the DAU visits the Born, the Canòdrom and the squares of San Andreu, the central space of the festival will remain the same like the three previous editions, Fabra i Coats, the flagship facility located in San Andreu. Specifically, the activities of the DAU in Fabra i Coats will be distributed in five areas of the space: the Creation Factory, a tent in the courtyard, the Casal de Barrio de San Andreu, the Josep Bota space and the Catalan Federation of Escacs.
The Creation Factory will host next December 12th and 13th an exhibition of games from most Catalan publishers and from the state like Devir, Asmodée, Haba or Educa Borrás. Both children and adults can play freely with the main innovations in the game world in our country. Inside the factory there will also be a space titled "Do you play in Catalan?", organized by the Centre for Linguistic Normalisation. Also there’ll be the festival’s shop and various activities by the festival guest author Roberto Fraga. Moreover, a patio tent will be installed with more games from leading publishers in the country, workshops and exhibitions of "Softcombat", a sport halfway between the old fencing and historical reenactments.
The Casal of San Andreu will host a number of activities: a collective experiment on human behavior, displays of football buttons or an introductory workshops to the asian game Go. There will also be a space dedicated to the introduction to RPGs, another one for the guest authors and one for the protogames finalists of the competition DAU Barcelona - Verkami. The Casal will also host crossword tournaments and the presentation of the game "Drakenlords". The Josep Bota space will host one macrogame of "Pathfinder", a “Carcasseonne” and "The favor of Pharaoh" tournaments and the free night game "DAU Off". During this night, exclusive games like "Polaris" by Roberto Fraga, a night football buttons game session and simultaneous games of "Una nit l’home llop". In addition, The Casal of San Andreu will host on the 13th the 2015 World Championship of "War of Myths". Finally, the headquarters of the Catalan Chess Federation will host the David Garcia Ilundain Memorial Chess Tournament DAU Barcelona.
