The DNIT electronic music cycle is back again

Chinese musical artist Pan Daijing to be the first guest of the year at CaixaFòrum, following her performance last year at Sónar.

DNIT, surely the most energetic electronic music cycle in Barcelona, offers one event on the last Friday of the month, though not every month, and has become the best place to discover new and exciting talent in the field of experimental digital sounds. Many of the artists who appear at DNIT have already won accolades from the specialized press and have played prestigious showcases for the genre such as the Sónar, Mira and Mutek festivals. DNIT is going from strength to strength, due both to the reasonable price of its tickets and to the growing demand for this type of music in the city. On 26 January the cycle is set to return to CaixaFòrum with the Chinese musical artist Pan Daijing.

Pan Daijing is a kind of oriental Diamanda Galás: a producer of disturbing sounds, created using analog synthesizers, with melodies that sometimes sound oriental and sometimes sound extraterrestrial, accompanied by her fragile voice. Last year she performed at Sónar, and now she’s back in a much more intimate setting to present her latest album, Lack, which was released on the German PAN label. The following date with DNIT will be on 23 February with Altar, featuring the combined talents of Roly Porter and Paul Jebanasam.
