One of the photographs in the exhibition

Barceloneta’s Last Fishermen

The exhibition, which features photographs by David Tarrasón and texts that lend a voice to the protagonists, can be visited until 25 January.

In the images that appear in this exhibition, the photographer David Tarrasón i Cerdà set out to capture a world and a livelihood that are disappearing fast all along the Mediterranean coast. In Barceloneta’s Last Fishermen, visitors will find both his images and texts that lend a voice to the neighbourhood’s men and women of the sea as they reflect on the changes they have experienced and their prospects for the future.

The exhibition, which is organized by Cap A Mar, can be seen at Barceloneta Civic Centre until 25 January. According to the organizers, it aims to "highlight the value of one of the neighbourhood and city’s legacies."

This activity is part of the initiative La Barceloneta es mou which promotes cultural activities that aim to build a more direct relationship with the neighbourhood. Additional information is available at the following link.
