Evenings at the UB: experimental music in the finest setting
Up-and-coming formations are on the roster for these concerts in the garden of the Historic Building of the University of Barcelona.
Evenings at the UB is an event that is eagerly awaited by many people every summer. And this year’s edition, which will be the 13th, is characterised by a diverse and experimental line-up that includes a number of the most interesting names on the current music scene in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and Navarre who have just released or who are about to release their debut album. First up are pop rock band Jorra and Gomorra, followed by Sosun with their weird and wonderful electro-pop. Then it will be time for folk pop with L'Espiadimonis, the irreverent and wild approach of Side Chick and the experimental melancholy of Nuu. The fuzz-pop sounds of Melenas will bring the programme to a close.
Performances will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 19 July. Although the concerts begin at 9pm, the doors will be open from 6pm and you can enjoy a delicious gourmet sandwich by Caravan Made before the music starts.
