Saturday's Classical Concerts

Classical Music on Saturdays at the European Museum of Modern Art

Saturdays in August and September feature classical compositions from around the world.

As well as having the most complete collection of contemporary figurative painting in Barcelona, the MEAM European Museum of Modern Art plays host to an extensive programme of activities designed to encourage everyone to enjoy the museum. One of the best known of these activities is the classical music cycle that takes place every Saturday afternoon. Throughout August and September they have programmed weekly concerts on different themes, featuring classical works from around the world. In August there will be performances of Japanese music with Kimhiyo Torres, sentimental waltzes with Itziar Espinar, traditional music with Elena Leon and Roger Sabaters, and Russian music with Svetlana Tovstukha and Jordi Romero. September sees the return of sentimental waltzes with Eudald Buch, sound landscapes with Cecilia Mazzufero, zarzuela with Marga Cloquell, 'Mignon' with Mercedes Gancedo and, finally, 'Largo al factotum' with Jorge Tello.

Saturday's Classical Concerts will be held at the European Museum of Modern Art every Saturday in August and September so that you can enjoy the best classical music in a unique location, Palau Gomis. And admission includes a visit to MEAM followed by a snack, a perfect plan to take advantage of the holiday months.
