European Heritage Days in Barcelona

Events in Barcelona include guided tours and itineraries around different areas of the city

This year’s European Heritage Days are set to take place in Catalonia from 16 to 18 September.

In the case of Barcelona, the programme of events includes a number of guided tours and itineraries including three guided visits to Parc Güell on Saturday 17 and a walking tour around Nou Barris on the morning of Sunday 18, focussing on the events there during the transition to democracy. At the Sant Pau Catalan Modernist Ensemble there will also be three guided tours on Saturday 17, and the three itineraries titled Els Güell a la Rambla. Quatre palaus connectats are scheduled for Friday 16. A rather different type of itinerary is Parc de Collserola a través de la Carretera de la Rabassada, a three-hour itinerary that is set to begin at 10am on 17 September.

These activities are free. Remember to book early to be sure of a place.

This year’s events are dedicated to the people working for the diffusion and awareness of the conservation of heritage working in heritage communities. The slogan Heritage for all highlights the importance of working multilaterally in cooperation in favour of the conservation and management of European patrimony.
