The Espais Mentrestant project aims to rehabilitate Raval district premises for community use

Projects for the rehabilitation of commercial premises for one year can be presented up until the 25th of Marc

The objective of the Espais Mentrestant project is to temporarily revitalise unused premises for the benefit of the local community and projects may now be presented for the rehabilitation of two commercial premises on carrer Príncep de Viana and carrer Cendra, two streets that are included the Raval Cultural scheme.

Use of the premises may be varied (studios, workshops, shops, product and exhibition showcases, co-working, etc.) and the business or cultural activity to be carried out may include a wide range of possibilities, though given the district’s cultural orientation, preference will be given to music-related initiatives. Recording studios, record labels and producers, music and dance academies will all be considered, as well as other educational enterprises, online promotion and content, graphic, industrial and product design, fashion, architecture, video, image...

Those interested in presenting a project should do so via a participation form which must be presented before 2 pm on the 25th of March. The rehabilitated premises will have previously established opening hours and the temporary tenants will collaborate in the proper operation of the project as a community initiative. Subsequent extension of the contract after one year is negotiable.

The Espais Mentrestant project is promoted by the Barcelona City Council via the Institut de Cultura, la Conselleria de Comerç and the Ciutat Vella local council, who will provide both the owners of the premises and the prospective tenants with the necessary assistance in minimising the associated legal and administrative costs.
