Escena 2013, from the 18th to the 20th of October in Poblenou

Over three days the new edition of the festival will present a wide variety of performances in different disciplines

Escena Poblenou is a multidisciplinary performing arts festival which will take place this year from the 18th to the 20th of October in various locations throughout the district, including Can Felipa, Hangar, Sala Beckett-Poblenou or La Rambla itself.

Over three days the festival will present a wide variety of performances in different disciplines including dance, circus, comedy, installations, music, video-jockey projections, performances, etc., and includes activities geared towards more mature audiences who are accustomed to the various disciplines as well as others which are more family oriented.

Escena 2013 kicks off on Friday the 18th at 1 pm with Domini Públic DIWO, by Roger Bernat in the Institut 4Cantons. Those who are not able to attend need not worry as most of the performances will be repeated. Other highlighted theatrical performances include Whose Are Those Eyes and Joseph as well as more fringe proposals such as Symon Pédicrí, an unorthodox, objectual theatre-ventriloquist performance.

Dance will be represented by pieces such as El Pliegue, by Sonia Sánchez and Susobra, by Laila Tafur. La Rambla, Poblenou will be the staging for Saturday’s artistic intervention by Ada Vilaró & Sergi Estebanell in an attempt to recuperate public spaces as common areas for artistic reflection.

All tickets may be purchased an hour before the show at the performance venue but to purchase tickets for other performances, or days, you will need to visit the information and sales points in Hangar and San Felipa. Performances in Hangar are free of charge and seating is limited. Contributions are voluntary.
