Els Pets, in the Sidecar Club
The band play on the 19th of December as part of the Curtcircuit initiative
It may seem unusual that a band with a career and following such as Els Pets would choose to play a small venue like the Sidecar Club, but the truth is that only last October the band played an official presentation concert in Barcelona for the release of their latest record, L'àrea petita. On this occasion the band have an ulterior motive for their playing the Plaça Reial venue, namely, their participation in an initiative entitled Curtcircuit (Short Circuit) where a number of artists are playing a variety of venues throughout Catalonia.
An additional aspect of the circuit it that more renowned bands provide lesser-known bands with the opportunity to act as curtain-raisers. In this particular case the band from Constantí are supported by Eduard Font, from Girona, with the self-produced Sr. Font en clau de Rock, a debut solo release following an extended career in bands such as Glaucs, Sopa de Cabra, Lax‘n’Busto...
Curtcircuit is an initiative of the Catalonian association of concert venues, ASACC, and is designed to demonstrate the cultural role played by concert venues in Catalonia, thereby providing much-needed additional promotion for live music in general.
