A moment from the musical 'El Petit Príncep', playing at Teatre Barts until January

El Petit Príncep is back to spend Christmas in Barcelona

It’s the third season for this musical by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix, based on the novella Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

El Petit Príncep is back in Barcelona until 8 January to swell the already generous number of musical on the city’s stages. But, unlike most of the other musicals on offer in Barcelona, Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix’s creation is designed to appeal to the whole family and is recommended for children from 5 years old. It’s well suited to the Christmas season, transporting us to the world of magic and fantasy of the novella by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. In fact, it’s the third consecutive year that this musical is in residence for Christmas at Teatre Barts, and if it is as successful as in previous years, it probably won’t be the last. In the last two seasons, some 130,000 spectators have made their way to the theatre to see the story and listen to the songs about a boy who travels from asteroid B612 to the Earth.

El Petit Príncep features songs in a variety of styles, surround sound and a spectacular staging that uses mappings, projections and animations to recreate the universe portrayed in Saint-Exupéry’s fiction.

Every season sees new things in the show and the highlight this year is a new song by the children’s group Macedònia. The cast of the musical includes Xavier Duch, Diana Roig, Àngel Llàcer alternating in his role with Ivan Labanda, Cisco Cruz and the Petit Prince, with the collaboration of Júlia Bonjoch.
