An Easter recital in the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi

The performance on Tuesday the 26th of March will feature arias by J.S. Bach as interpreted by the Clàssic BCN ensemble

Easter week is almost upon us and activities that bear even the most tenuous relationship with the Easter festivities are beginning to flourish. Music is no exception, and the programme of the Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi for Tuesday the 26th includes a concert titled “Bones Pasques” (Happy Easter).

The Clàssic BCN ensemble will be performing a repertoire based around the arias of Bach but which will also include works by Schubert, Fauré and Franck.

On this occasion the orchestra will feature Bulgarian mezzo-soprano Miglena Savova, flautist Anton Serra, bassoonist Vasil Nikolov, also Bulgarian, and Jordi Ribell at the harpsichord and piano.

The Reial Acadèmia Catalana de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi (Saint George Catalan Royal Academy of Fine Arts), founded in 1850, is a non-profit cultural institution based in Llotja de Mar, near Pla de Palau. The principle function of the group is to promote the practise and dissemination of fine arts in Catalonia and every Tuesday from now until the end of July they will be hosting concerts such as the one that concerns us here.
