Dramatised visits to Casa Amatller

The building is one of the best-known designs of the Catalan modernist architect Josep Puig i Cadadalch.

Located on the emblematic Passeig de Gràcia, right next to Casa Batlló, Casa Amatller always deserves a visit. It was designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, one of the great names in Catalan modernist architecture, and was constructed from 1898 to 1900 as the residence of the chocolate industrialist Antoni Amatller i Costa. An interesting way of visiting the house is on one of the dramatised tours offered by the company Cases Singulars.

Two types of tours are on offer. On the Amatller Family Tour, Antoni Amatller, Teresa Amatller and their maid Justa, three characters who once lived the house, will be your hosts and will tell you all about their life there and even invite you to a cup of hot chocolate. On the tour titled Conversations between Teresa Amatller and her friend Mercedes Garí, visitors can eavesdrop on these two friends and there will also be no lack of hot chocolate.

There are tours in Catalan, Spanish and English, and they are currently scheduled until March. If you wish to attend, book well ahead of time since places are limited.
