Conan the Destroyer

A double bill of swordplay and sorcery at Phenomena

A cut-price opportunity to see two epic 1980s films: 'Krull' and 'Conan the Destroyer'.

According to some, 'Conan the Barbarian' is one of the best films of the 1980s, not only thanks to its epic scenes, but also to its soundtrack and the iconic Arnold Schwarzenegger, who became a pop phenomenon thanks to his laconic and muscular interpretation of the hyperborean warrior created by Robert E. Howard in this adaptation by Dino de Laurentiis. A few years later, there came a sequel, 'Conan the Destroyer', directed by Richard Fleischer, in which Schwarzenegger once again played Conan in a new adventure, in which he was to rescue a princess captured by a wicked warrior, and, on the way, recruited a small army of giants and warriors - played by icons such as singer and model Grace Jones, and former NBA player Wilt Chamberlain - to help him to fulfill his mission. Though inferior to the first film it was a good way to bring an end to the Conan cycle and can now be seen at the Phenomena Experience cinema as part of a double bill.

The other film on the bill is another 80’s classic in the same vein. In 'Krull', Prince Colwyn and his outlaw companions travel to the planet Krull to save Princess Princess Lyssa from "The Beast". The film quickly became a cult icon among fans of the sword and sorcery genre.
