“Design Barcelona-Beijing”, in the Sala Ciutat

The exhibition reveals the relationship between the Catalan and Chinese capital cities by means of a selection of design-related projects

An exhibition entitled Design Barcelona-Beijing, a result of the featured presence of Barcelona in this year’s Beijing Design Week, can be seen from the 18th of September until the 7th of November in the Sala Ciutat. The festival is one of the most important in Asia in relation to design, architecture, urbanism and contemporary creativity and took place from the 26th of September to the 3rd of October with Barcelona as guest city.

The thousands of visitors who flocked to Beijing Design Week had the opportunity to visit an exhibition entitled Barcelona, a future inspired by design, a selection curated by the Barcelona Centre de Disseny consisting of 30 objects representative of contemporary design, many of which are already available on the Chinese market. Under the banner, “Barcelona in Beijing” Barcelona designs played a prominent role in the fourth edition of the event, itself a powerful showcase for international promotion.

As a result of this success, the Sala Ciutat is repeating the Design Barcelona-Beijing experience with an exhibition of architectural, industrial, graphic, advertising and audio-visual communications design projects and brand names created in Catalonia but which are destined for the Asian market.

The exhibition is organised by the Barcelona City Council in conjunction with the Advertising and Public Relations College of Catalonia and can be seen in the Sala Ciutat up until the 7th of November. Entry is free and more information is available here.
