David Trueba chats with Leopoldo Pomés

The event will take place on the 9th of April in La Pedrera as part of the exhibition dedicated to the famous Barcelona-born photographer “Leopoldo Pomés. Flashback”

On Thursday the 9th of April, beginning at 7 pm, La Pedrera will host a chat featuring photographer Leopoldo Pomés and film maker David Trueba. The chat forms part of the parallel activities for the venue’s current exhibition Leopoldo Pomés. Flashback, dedicated to the famous Barcelona-born photographer, which can be seen up until the 12th of July. Trueba will converse with Pomés in an effort to acquaint those in attendance with the life and career of the photographer from his birth in 1931 to the present day.

The undisputable leading figure in Catalan photography of the second half of the 20th century, Pomés also excelled in other disciplines, including film and advertising. The exhibition includes 140 photographs in addition to fifty-or-so advertisements and a wealth of graphic documentation relating to his career. David Trueba, a confessed admirer of Pomés’s work, is responsible for films the likes of Soldiers of Salamina, Welcome Home, Madrid, 1987 and, more recently, Living is Easy with Eyes Closed, which earned him Goya Awards for Best Director and Best Film, among others. He has also written several novels, including Blitz, which was published just this year.

The chat is entitled Conversem amb Pomés (Let’s talk with Pomés) and entry is priced at 3 euros, which includes free entry to the parallel exhibition on the day after the event.
