Daniel Zacarías presents 'El otro lado de la danza'

This dance creation can be seen every Saturday at Teatreneu until 24 September

If the summer schedules of most theatres in Barcelona has left you temporarily bereft of cultural stimulation, you’ll be happy to learn that there are still some places that stay open – even in August. One of them is Teatreneu in the heart of Gràcia, which offers performances like the one we would like to recommend today: El otro lado de la danza.

The creative mind behind the performance is Daniel Zacarías who aims to show us all of the secrets of his art. As a person and as an artist he reveals himself completely in a spectacle that is both personal and original. What we have here is a dancer who is daring and polemical, who wants to use his experiments to break down the frontiers of dance.

Spectators will be amazed by this uncommon performance – a monologue that blends techniques such as clown and dance to provide an insight into the world of the performer. It’s a work that transits between the ridiculous and the absurd in which the laughter breaks out to trap the public.  It’s great entertainment and, at the same time, a master class on feelings like loneliness and failure.
