‘Dansa. Quinzena metropolitana’

Barcelona dances to ‘La Quinzena. Metropolitan Dance’

Dance will fill streets, squares, theatres, metro lines, bus routes and cinemas.

La Quinzena. Metropolitan Dance returns to Barcelona, an out-and-out celebration of dance and the art of movement. Thanks to the event, streets, squares, theatres, cinemas and even metro lines and bus routes will be filled with the best corporal expression of the city. There will be all styles of dance for everyone, international artists and new talents, shows that will astonish the public and ideas that will invite them to dance, even the ones who hadn’t planned to! This year La Quinzena. Metropolitan Dance has got even bigger. From 2018, when there were six towns taking part in the programme – Badalona, Barcelona, Cornellà de Llobregat, Esplugues de Llobregat, L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and Santa Coloma de Gramenet – we’ve now risen to nine this year with the addition of El Prat de Llobregat, Sant Cugat del Vallès and Viladecans. As well as adding venues in the whole of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, there are more actions than last year, numbering over a hundred in all. This would not be possible without the cooperation between the whole of the festival team, which allows us to stage top-class co-productions, such as La nuit, nos autres by Aina Alegre and Flamingos by Albert Quesada. There is also room for short productions: a call was sent out for companies and artists from all over the world with shows designed for performance in non-theatre spaces.

La Quinzena. Metropolitan Dance runs from 13 to 31 March at sites all over Barcelona. Don't miss this perfect opportunity to get to know the art of dance in many of its facets.

Tickets are at different prices depending on the show. You’ll find all the information on the festival website.
