The work, which is by Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias and produced by the Baró d'evel company, blends elements of circus and dance.
Poetry, movement and contemporary circus all merge in Là, an original production that carries the subtitle A Piece in Black and White for Two Humans and a Raven and which premiered at last year’s edition of the Grec Festival. The Gràcia located venue of the prestigious Teatre Lliure has decided to start its 2018-2019 season by re-programming this performance, which was created and will be performed by Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias, and which is the first part of a diptych of performances that will be completed, possibly next year, by Sur la falaise. Là bears the creative stamp of the Baró d'evel company and its director Maria Muñoz and Pep Ramis have collaborated with the dance company Mal Pelo on the production.
The starting point of the piece is the desire of its creators to explore oppositions, for example between black and white and between balance and imbalance, and also a search for the limits of the human voice, rhythm and light. Above the two humans on the stage the figure of a crow represents the world of beliefs and superstitions, but also freedom and lightness.
Là can be seen at Lliure de Gràcia from 27 September to 14 October. Additional information is available at the following link.
