“Bruixes i heretges” is a route around Barcelona’s folklore, which departs from Avenida de la Catedral on Sunday, 26th of July at 18:30h
The circuit of the alternative routes around Barcelona proposes in this occasion to deal with a a subject matter that causes curiosity and mystery at the same time: Barcelona and the witches.
This tour, planned for Sunday, 26th of July invites us to discover pegan traditions and memories in the history and folklore of Barcelona.
Te cult of the mother Earth and house remedies were questioned in the times when the Supreme Tribunal of the Holy Inquisition would declare all this alternative sciences as crime and would pursue them.
Many traditional folk songs reflect this times, like this one: “Plou i fa sol les bruixes es pentinen, plou i fa sol les bruixes van de dol”. (It rains and it’s sunny, the withes comb their hair, it rains and it’s sunny, the witches are dressed in duel.”)
