Palau Robert to host the exhibition from the 22nd of April to the 28th of August.

Comediants is one of the most important companies in the history of Catalan theatre, with a career spanning 44 years and an unmistakable stage language and aesthetics. In fact, this exhibition at Palau Robert will be titled Comediants, inventors of a new language and aims to put the career of this group, which has travelled the five continents, into perspective.

Joan Font, the company director, and Dani Freixes are the curators of the exhibition which will also occupy one of the halls at Can Serra, the headquarters of the Diputació de Barcelona. It will provide an insight into the career of the company, which was founded in 1972 and is made up of actors, musicians and artists from a variety of fields who give the formation its multidisciplinary character.

The company’s characteristic language is highlighted by examples of its spectacular staging, marked by a popular, Mediterranean essence. Their innovative theatrical discourse reinvigorated the Catalan scene and had a wide ranging influence on performances and celebrations throughout the country.
