Classical music on Tuesdays at the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts

In July, you will be able to hear works by Mahler, Dvořák, Montsalvatge and Granados.

The program of concerts entitled Classical Music at the Royal Academy, which takes place every Tuesday in July at the Hall of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, will feature the final melodies of the spring-summer 2018 season. The attendees will have the opportunity to savour compositions by diverse composers, interpreted by prestigious musicians from a number of different European countries.

On Tuesday 10 July, the Caravaggio Piano Quartet will present a concert titled Two quartets and a piece written by the pianist of the group, in which they will play pieces by Gustav Mahler, Antonin Dvořák, and a composition by Bernat Català, the pianist of the formation. A week later, fans of piano music shouldn’t miss the four-handed concert offered by pianists Laura Pastor and Elena Chiavegato featuring music by Debussy, Xavier Montsalvatge and Enric Granados. On 24 July, the Nova Orquestra de Cambra Germans Pla, with Domènec González de la Rubia conducting and Anton Serra on the flute, will present a repertoire featuring compositions by Enric Morera, Joan Manén, and González de la Rubia himself. On the last day of the month, Anton Serra on the flute, Philippe Argenty on the piano and Anna Mikulska on the cello will perform a repertoire of pieces by Carl Maria Von Weber and Louise Farrenc titled Music for you!
