Classical music cycle in Horta Guinardó

Clàssica a Horta Guinardó: classical music reaches out to the neighbourhoods

This free concert cycle comes courtesy of Barcelona City Council.

Since 1999, the District of Horta Guinardó of the Barcelona City Council has organized Clàssica a Horta Guinardó, a cycle of classical music concerts in Horta Guinardó with the intention of promoting classical music among the population of the district by offering a programme of free concerts, recitals for children and other activities. One of the aims of the cycle is to add together the creative exceptionality of the different composers of the works that will be interpreted and the uniqueness of their different styles and historical eras to enable listeners to interpret the works within the vision of an artistic dialogue.

The cycle will take place from 20 October to 2 December in the district's libraries, civic centres, halls and other facilities. Outstanding concerts include the opening session scheduled to take place in the Sant Pau Modernist Ensemble on 20 October, in which Projecte Artbarok will play pieces by Handel and Telemann. Additionally, on 25 October, there will be a conference on Wagner and Meyebeer at the Guinardó Civic Centre. The concerts will continue with composers such as Haydn, Mozart, Granados, Vivaldi, Brahms, Schumann, Falla and Martín i Soler, accompanied by family-oriented activities, such as a workshop on the Mozart family on 11 November in the multipurpose room at Montbau.

All the concerts are free of charge. Additional information is available at the following link.
