Readers at last year’s fair

Christmas Book Fair and more at the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm

As in April’s Sant Jordi celebration, a long list of authors will be taking part in the fair on 10 December

The Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm (C/ de Rosselló 515) is an old brewery that will, at least on Saturday 10 December, become the centre of the Catalan book world. What some call the Christmas time Sant Jordi celebration, though its official title is the Christmas Book Market, is celebrating its third annual edition this year. And like on Sant Jordi day, it’ll be a chance for writers with books on the market to meet their readers and sign their works.

The market is an initiative of Club TR3SC, in collaboration with Estrella Damm, Abacus Cooperativa and Barcelona Ciutat de la Literatura. From 11am to 10pm, the old brewery building will be buzzing with book signings, workshops, talks, debates, live music and food trucks serving meals and drinks. As well as writers, the event will attract illustrators, translators, journalists and people working in education.

Admission to the market is free of charge but places are limited and should be reserved in advance here.
