Cantabile perform in the Sant Andreu Theatre

The concert will take place on the 6th of January as part of the first edition of EnciSAT!

Cantabile, finalists in the last edition of the TV3 programme “Oh Happy Day”, are a hundred percent female choral group from the Gràcia district of Barcelona. While they cover a range of styles and genres their specialities tend towards musical numbers and pop songs and their performances do not consist solely of singing as they also place emphasis both on acting out much of the repertoire and on choreography.

Cantabile first formed in 1999 and have always maintained a close relationship with El Cercle, a socio-cultural association from the district where they began. The group currently headed by Laia Jornet will be the undisputed stars of the show on the 6th in a concert that corresponds to the EnciSAT! programme for the month of January.

For those not already in the know, EnciSAT! is a relatively new concert programme that began last September in an effort to increase the musical offering of the Sant Andreu district. The concerts have been and will be held once a month in the Sant Andreu Theatre (SAT) up until the month of April. The venue holds roughly 380 people and the remainder of the programme includes performances by Andrea Motis, Joan Chamorro Quintet & Rita Payes (February), Cybee (March) and the Sinatra 100 Years Show, featuring The Bruno Oro & Vicens Martín Dream Big Band (April).
