The Canòdrom - Creative Research Park opens its doors to the Fiestas of the Congres neighborhood

On saturday the neighbors will be able to visit the new equipment and its square will host an interactive circus show

The Congrés neighborhood will soon have a new citizen equipment: the former Meridiana Dog Track, is the location of the Creative Research Park, a place of innovation and cultural entrepreneurship for the creative and cultural industries. With the aim of opening this space to the citizens, the Direcció de Creativitat i Innovació del Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), who manages the equipment, has created a table for debate with the entities of the district with the aim that the new Creative Research Park has the maximum possible relationship with its neighbours. Furthermore, given that these days the Congrés neighbourhood celebrates their fiestas, next Saturday October 10th, there’ll be an open house in the old Dog Track. From 11am until 07pm, for the neighbors who wish may visit the facilities.

Moreover, at five o'clock the Canódromo’s Square will host a circus workshop that will feature juggling, Chinese dish, tightrope and soap bubbles. Participants will interact with the workshop activities through the Kalliope app. Then the circus "PartiCIRCpa! 1.0"  will take place, which also allows interaction between actor and audience with different circus acts. The app Kalliope helps the actor interact with the public, who will receive messages with instructions on what to do.

The initiative has been welcomed by the neighborhood entities. "The neighbours expect a lot of this equipment and its square," says Montse Blasco, president of the Fiestas Committee of the neighborhood. "We’ve had a very good start and we hope that in future editions of the neighborhood’s Fiestas, the Canódromo can accommodate more activities and shows," says Blasco.
