CANCELLED EVENT: Trash An’ Ready Reggae Festival

Due to low selling for tickets to the Trash An’ Ready Reggae Festival in the Poble Espanyol on the 26th, the event is cancelled

The second Barcelona Trash An’ Ready Reggae Festival is just around the corner, and while the main event won’t take place until the 26th of July, a warm-up session has been programmed for the Sala Razzmatazz.

The concert, entitled Warm-up Party, will take place on the 2nd of July at 7 pm and will feature performances by legendary Jamaican artist Jimmy Cliff and local band, Green Valley, one of the most popular home-grown reggae bands of the moment.

With a career spanning more than 40 years and considered by many as one of the principal international ambassadors of the genre, Cliff has won numerous awards, including a Grammy for the Best Reggae Album, and sold more than 25 million albums. Green Valley, on the other hand, celebrate their tenth anniversary this year.

Following on from the success of the first edition, the Trash An’ Ready Reggae Festival returns with a new event to add to the city’s existing programme and will feature both legendary international names as well as younger, upcoming acts.

The festival on the 26th of July in the Poble Espanyol will kick off at 5.30 pm and will include Gentleman & The Evolution, Alborosie & The Shengen Clan, The Gladiators feat. Droop Lion, Sr. Wilson and La Senyoreta Descalça in addition to Marcus Reggaeland, an eminent figure in purist reggae circles, who will act as master of ceremonies and dj between performances.

Three types of ticket available this year, one for just the Jimmy Cliff/Green Valley concert on the 2nd in the Razzmatazz (25 euros), another for the Trash An’ Ready on the 26th in the Poble Espanyol (35 euros) and finally a combined ticket for both events, which are priced at 45 euros. All tickets may be purchased here.
