The Book Festival: warming up for Sant Jordi

For the fifth year running, TR3SC is holding this meeting point for readers and writers featuring book presentations, Q & A sessions and good company

Are you so in love with literature that you want to go beyond merely reading the books and get to know the authors behind them? If that’s the case the Book Festival, which is held every year by TR3SC, is the ideal event for you. It’s an informal get-together, in company with free beer and aperitifs, with some of the most important Catalan writers who have just published a new book and are ready and willing to autograph your copy. For a modest sum of money you can join in, chat with the authors, get your book dedicated and listen to the presentations.

The format is simple: a total of ten Catalan writers will take to the stage to present their latest work. The authors this year are Jordi Bianciotto and Maria del Mar Bonet, who have co-authored the biography of the Majorcan singer-songwriter, followed by Lluís Gavaldà, Màrius Serra, Sílvia Soler, Rafel Nadal, Marc Pastor, Jenn Díaz, Care Santos and Roger Mas. After the presentations, the public can enter into a dialogue with the writers before moving on to Estrella Damm beer and tapas by Pebre Negre, all of which is included in the €10 admission fee.

The Book Festival will take place at the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm and, in the words of the organisers, promises to be the best literary afterwork session you could possibly imagine. You’ll find more information on the TR3SC website.
