The Barnasants Festival cycle is back

This new edition is focussed on feminism and features over 110 concerts

One of the most political concert cycles on the Catalan music scene is back. Barnasants is celebrating its 22nd edition this year with a clear feminist focus. The commemoration of the Bolshevik revolution will share the spotlight with the figures of Alexandra Kollontai and Chilean singer-songwriter Violeta Parra.

The series of concerts is scheduled to last three months and features some 110 concerts by some of the leading names in world music and in Catalan-speaking lands. Special attention will also be paid to Chile, who will be bringing 8 of the 16 South American artists featured. To open proceedings, a multi-venue show will be held in six locations in Catalonia on different dats. Under the title Les Kol·lontai, it will feature songs by Montse Castellà, Meritxell Gené, Sílvia Comas and Ivette Nadal. The Barcelona show is scheduled for 3 February at Born CCM.

The other dates scheduled for January and February are: Pep Lladó (29 January, Harlem Club), Albert Pla and Diego Cortés (31 January, Sala Jamboree), Xavier Baró (2 February, Harlem Club), Miquel Pujadó (2 February, Harlem Club), Laia Rius (4 February, Centre Cultural Albareda), Joana Gomila (16 February, Tradicionarius), Vercel (19 February, Centre Cultural Albareda) and Coetus amb Carles Dénia (23 February, Auditori).
