Barcelona celebrates Brazil Day

Barcelona and Brazil share a day of cultural bonding

The recent Olympic Games have served to make Brazil even more fashionable, as well as helping to promote the cultural reality of this exceptional country. That’s why this year’s edition of Brazil Day in Barcelona, which is scheduled for 4 September at Parc del Fòrum. The festival features some of the great figures of Brazilian culture, both in the field of music and gastronomy.


Among the musical highlights of this year’s edition are musician and producer Lenine, a crucial figure in his country of origin. Roberto Mendes is another of the festival’s star attractions, and will appear accompanied by musician Munir Hossn. And there’s also space here for emerging Brazilian artists such as soul-funkers Caníbal Football Club, samba with Chambinho do Acordeón and the warm voice of Verônica Ferriani.

In the gastronomic field, visitors to the festival can enjoy dishes offered by 13 Brazilian restaurants, together with five Latin-American food specialists in Comidas do Mundo. There will also be a batucada featuring the Samba Unidos school of Barcelona as well as classical capoeira. But even before the main action begins, there will be pre-festival performances at Guzzo Bar (30 August), el Foro (31 August), Ocaña (1 September) and Casa Gracia (2 September).
