PedreraArtlab: music is back at the Pedrera

A new concert cycle begins with an appearance by Enric Montefusco

The emblematic, Gaudí-designed La Pedrera has been giving support to music for a long time now – from classical music and flamenco to folk and indie-pop. Its two music spaces, the larger Auditori and the more intimate Sala Gaudí, have become excellent showcases for emerging artists and those working in less commercial genres. Faithful to this commitment, a new cycle is set to begin on 9 March called PedreraArtlab, which aims to forge links between music and other creative forms.

The idea of the cycle is to stage appearances by artists from the independent circuit, with a pop-rock style and enrich their performances with live video and photography, cinema, design and even abstract ideas. For example, the band Cybee will be working with Cinema en Curs, an educational program that is being implemented at schools in and around Barcelona, the electronic pop duo Nuu will do the same in collaboration with IDEP college, while the group Germà Aire will be working live with advertising creative Manuel Moranta and the photographer Blanca Viñas.

To kick off the cycle, Enric Montefusco, the ex-leader of Standstill, will be presenting his first solo album “Meridiana” accompanied by the photographer Alberto Gamazo.
