La Pedrera: a laboratory of the emotions

It’s time for the third edition of Pedrera ArtLab, a concert program for April in which music meets other artistic disciplines.

Three years ago, within the framework of the intense cultural programming task that takes place at La Pedrera, a new programme, called Pedrera ArtLab, was created. The aim was to create connections between music, which is one of the cultural staples of the institution, with other artistic disciplines such as design, architecture and literature, and the results were so positive that the experience was repeated in 2017. Now it’s time for the third edition, which is arriving with a cycle of six concerts, one could almost say sensory experiences, with a first performance on 5 April, in which singer Maria Rodés and filmmaker Laura Ginès will come together to tackle the concepts of outer space and the earth's atmosphere.

But ArtLab Pedrera has plenty more to offer. 8 April will see a family-oriented morning session with Josep M. Baldomà & Modiband (with the focus on film and songs for children), 12 April will feature a concert by the band folk Olivemoon, together with IDEP photography students, and on 16 April pianist Marina Herlop will perform, accompanied by Carlota Carvajal (dancer) and Joan Canyelles (visual artist). The last two concerts will be given by Sense Sal with images from the educational project Cinema en Curso (20 April) and Intana with the Fab Lab Barcelona architecture institute (26 April).
