A poster for this year's fair

5,000 years of history through art

Some thirty exhibitors will attend the FAMA fair at Barcelona's Reials Drassanes.

The 4th edition of FAMA, the Fira d'Art Modern i Antic in Barcelona, organized by the Catalan Antique Dealers Association, is all set to take place from 28 February to 4 March. It will attract some 30 dealers and gallery owners from around the Spanish state to the Sala Marquès de Comillas at Reials Drassanes de Barcelona in order to exhibit their pieces. One could say that attendees will have the opportunity to take a five millennia-long walk through the artworks, making it an ideal event for professionals in the sector, but also good fun for browsers. On display will be furniture, paintings, sculpture, jewellery, ceramics and archaeological pieces, including work by renowned artists.

One of the objectives of the event is, according to its promoters, "to contribute to the revitalization of the art market and help to spread the great cultural heritage that is hidden in galleries throughout the country". The three previous editions of the fair met with good results, but the association believes that this year will be the one that turns the fair into a "reference in the city."
