The 31st Saló Internacional del Còmic opens its doors on Thursday the 11th of April in the Fira Montjuic, Barcelona. Until Sunday the 14th, fans and professionals alike will have the opportunity to meet some of their favourite authors, take part in workshops, visit the exhibitions and attend the programme of conferences.
This year the Saló will be putting special emphasis on European creators, and authors such as Guy Delisle, Ciro Niels, the renowned superhero creator Adam Hughes, Manu Larcenet, the German author Ralf König, Argentinians Ariel Olivetti and Liniers, North American Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Ninja Turtles as well as Carlos Ezquerra and Jason, among many others, will be in attendance. The Salón will also be attended by publishers and executives from companies specialising in comic books, such as C.B. Cebulsky, Hank Kanalz and Philippe Ostermann.
The venue will play host to a number of different exhibitions, including a look at the presence of westerns in comic books, 75 years of Superman, graphic humour, the current economic crisis, “Quaderns de viatge”, which focuses on authors who create their drawings while visiting foreign countries, or two exhibitions dedicated to the artistic careers of two of the key Spanish comic book authors, Miguel Ambrosio Zaragoza ‘Ambros’, the creator of Capitán Trueno, and José Ortiz, among others.
There will also be a children’s area which will include activities directed at this audience in particular and, as every year, prizes will be awarded, for which a number of Spanish and foreign authors have been nominated.
In addition to all this there will be superheroes, alternative authors, video games, the ‘Saloon’ del Còmic, comic book and airbrushing workshops, presentations of new works by a variety of comic book publishers, specialised conferences... An open event to fully immerse oneself in the world of comic books.
