Amélie Angebault, a journey through time to the golden age of swing

A vibrant swing quartet just made for dancing

If ever you feel like taking a journey through time to the golden age of swing, back to the 1940s, 50s and 60s, there is no better way to do it than accompanied by the voice and guitar of French singer-songwriter Amélie Angebault and her partners in crime, Nacho Olivar (guitar), Juan Vigo (double bass) and Sergio López (drums). The band’s stage presentation is vintage, reminiscent of the golden age of this musical genre, and their performances are always a guarantee of non-conventionality and heartfelt entertainment. Her talents as an actress and dancer are in evidence in the character she has created expressly for the purposes of displaying her showbiz flair.

On seeing her in concert, Paco Mir (he of El Tricicle fame), was obviously impressed by Angebault’s performing talents and offered her the opportunity to take part in Un Jeta, Dos Jefes, a theatrical comedy which saw its debut in the Teatre Victoria last January. Now, on the 15th of January at 9 pm in L’Auditori, as part of the Mil•leni Festival, audiences will have a chance to hear the songs from her new release, Double Face, an infectious fusion of jazz and swing designed to make it impossible for you to remain sitting down.
