L'actriu Carme Elias protagonitza un dels retrats de l'exposició

80 personalities seen through Outumuro’s lens

This exhibition can be seen at Palau Robert until 26 February 2017

Manuel Outumuro (A Merca, Ourense, 1949) is a photographer with a great ability to capture the small gesture, the peculiarities and the specific features of the person he’s portraying. Barcelona’s Palau Robert is set to host an exhibition titled Outomuro BCN Portraits that serves as evidence of that talent. It consists of 80 photographs of well-known personalities that have a link with the city of Barcelona, including actors like Carme Elias, Lluís Homar and Eduard Fernàndez; sports people like Pau Gasol and Xavi Hernández; fellow photographers like Leopoldo Pomés, Pilar Aymerich and Colita; models like Martina Klein and Verónica Blume; and writers like Rosa Regàs, Eduardo Mendoza and Enrique Vila-Matas.

Outumuro reinvented himself as a photographer at the age of 40, after working as an art director, a graphic designer and an illustrator. He has published five books of photographs and has features in numerous collective and individual exhibitions. He has a graphic archive consisting of more than 10,000 negatives and a large amount of digital material. His portraits are inspired by the work of the great masters in the field of painting and film.

Outumuro BCN Portraits is organised by the Generalitat and can be seen at Palau Robert from 20 September 2016 to 26 February 2017.
