“8 veces te dejo” (8 times I leave you), in the Seca Espai Brossa
The Provenza theatre company of Buenos Aires have extended their performances of the production portraying six years in the life of a couple up until the 20th of July
Steven is emotionally immature. He is scared of commitment but hopelessly in love with Laura, who firmly believes in love and is looking for a partner. Over a relationship that lasts six years he leaves her eight times in an emotional roller-coaster ride of meditations, anxieties and desires, all of which suffer the effects of the passage of time.
8 veces te dejo is a comedy drama by Argentinian playwright, Elvira Gómez. Directed by Gabriel Beck, the play stars María José Cordonet Castagneto as Laura, Lautaro Correa as Steven and a presenter (Gabriel Beck) who directs himself to the audience and, on occasion, interacts with the performers.
The Provenza theatre company of Buenos Aires had a successful run with the play last year in the Porta4 theatre and, in just one hour, rise to the challenge of representing six years in the life of the couple, with all the emotional highs and lows that this entails.
Due to the positive reception, the play has been extended for two weeks and can be seen in the Leopoldo Fregoli theatre of the La Seca Espai Brossa up until the 20th of July from Wednesday to Saturday at 8.30 pm and on Sundays at 6.30 pm. Tickets may be purchased here.
