30 years of Celler de Can Roca at Palau Robert

The restaurant, located near Girona, has been awarded the title of best restaurant in the world on multiple occasions

In 1986, two brothers - Joan and Josep Roca opened up a restaurant near Girona which they named El Celler de Can Roca. In 2000 they were joined by their other brother Jordi. The three of them have since woven a whole universe of flavours and aromas that has won for them universal recognition for excellence in the world of gastronomy: from three Michelin stars to being declared the best restaurant of the world by Restaurant Magazine in 2013 and 2015. Now, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the establishment, Palau Robert is hosting an exhibition opening on 22 November that explores the creative process and the history behind the restaurant. explica el procés creatiu i la sòlida trajectòria del restaurant. El Celler de Can Roca, from the Earth to the Moon is divided into six sections: Memory of a Bar, Training, From the Earth to the Moon, Kaleidoscope, Total Experience and Memento Mori.

The Generalitat de Catalunya is organising the exhibition, with the support of the restaurant and the sponsorship of BBVA and the Patronat de Turisme de la Costa Brava Girona, the technological backing of Samsung, and the collaboration of the Agència Catalana de Turisme  and Institut Ramon Llull. The exhibition can be seen until 23 April 2017, and also coincides with the the Year of Gastronomy and Wine Tourism and Catalonia’s designation as a European Region of Gastronomy.
