The 2013 Ateneus Awards

Proposals for the 24th edition of the Premis Ateneus and the 6th edition of the Premis Jove, Proposa! awards can be presented up until the 8th of November

Since 1989, the Federació Ateneus de Catalunya (FAC) has been organising the Premis Ateneus, in recognition of the efforts made by many non-profit cultural associations, individuals, businesses and communications organisations. This year the awards in this category have been divided into three modalities – the Communications Award, the Artistic Creativity Award and the Innovation Award.

The Premi Jove, Proposa! award is another accolade that was established six years ago for young people between the ages of 16 and 30 who have clearly defined ideas, proposals or projects that have been developed in conjunction with other FAC association members. All three prizes are financial in nature.

As a novelty this year a new modality has been introduced, namely the Fomento de la Participación, or Participation Award. This award is open to any Catalan socio-cultural organisation that promotes participation via random festival activities that, for the most part, have their origin in Catalonia. The winners will be announced during a ceremony that will take place in December, 2013, and which will also include the presentation of a special award for social integration that has been established in conjunction with the Catalan Social Volunteers Association, FCVS.
