1st European Creativity Festival

The creative arts festival will take place from the 6th to the 8th of November in the Edifici Disseny Hub Barcelona and will include the ADC*E Awards

“Re-Designing Europe” is the slogan chosen by the Art Directors Club of Europe (ADC*E) for their first creativity festival, the European Creativity Festival, in which top professionals from the worlds of creativity and innovation will be encouraged to share their visions and ideas. The objective of the festival, however, is not just to talk about the current situation, but also to talk about how to re-think, re-design and re-innovate.

The talks will approach subjects such as how to rethink areas such as creativity, traditional branding, luxury, protests, business, Google and the concept of cities, and will feature such illustrious speakers as Austrian Amir Kassaei, Google’s Felipe San Juan, graphic designer Louise Fili and French speaker and business facilitator, Christophe Balaresque.

In I Wish I’d Done That, a number of creators will present pieces from the design and advertising industries of which they are unbelievably jealous. There will also be presentations in the Japanese style, PechaKucha, a rapid method in which presenters propose their ideas using a series of 20 images projected for 20 seconds each. The festival will also feature workshops on crowdfunding, collective creation and information visualisation, among others, designed help participants improve or impact upon certain aspects of their professional lives.

The festival will also include the 23rd edition of the ADC*E Awards, which bring together winning ideas from the major European competitions, in total, over 600 pieces will be presented to a jury of no less than 47 renowned creators. The final decision will be revealed on Saturday, the 8th of November in the Museu del Disseny. All festival activities will take place on the 7th and 8th, while the 6th will be given over to the competition jury in order that they may observe the aspiring pieces.

Founded in 1990, the Art Directors Club of Europe brings together design and advertising associations from throughout the continent in an effort to promote and reward European creativity.
