12th Barcelona Blues Festival

Top-notch local and international bands the likes of The Miguel Talavera Power Trio, The Barcelona Big Blues Band and Room 69 head the programme, which runs up until the 12th of July

The Barcelona Blues Festival will celebrate its 12th edition up until the 12th of July with concerts in a number of venues around the city. The main programme, which includes free concerts for all age groups, will take place on the 11th and 12th in the Parc Central, Nou Barris, and will include artists the likes of The Miguel Talavera Power Trio, The Barcelona Big Band, Santos Puertas, Drew Davies (UK), The Black Resonators (US), Room 69 and Joseph Brown & The Roomful of Swing, among others.

The concerts will put the finishing touches to a week of concerts and events throughout Barcelona. On Wednesday the 9th, at 7.30 pm, the Sala Àmbit Cultural of El Corte Inglés, Portal de l’Àngel, will host a master class on the history of the blues presented by Núria Benach with musical accompaniment by Amadeu Casas. On Thursday the 10th there will be another presentation dealing with the saxophone given by Drew Davies in the Casal de Barri de Prosperitat. Following these events there will be performances by The Blouppers, The Bald’s Band and a jam session, all of which are free of charge.

In addition, and in line with the social commitment of previous editions, the festival has also programmed performances for patients, inmates and personnel of local hospitals and penitentiaries.
