“The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared” opens in cinemas
The film, based on the Jonas Jonasson’s international best seller, opens on the 11th of July
Since its first publication on our shores, The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, by Swedish author Jonas Jonasson, has been a literary sensation. The international best seller has now been adapted for the big screen by director and script writer, Felix Herngren.
The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared was made on a budget of 15 million euros and stars Robert Gustafsson, one of Sweden’s best-known comedians. The film tells the story of an old man who, on his 100th birthday, escapes from his nursing home and by accident becomes involved in a criminal plot. This, however, is nothing more than an everyday occurrence for a man who has experienced the most important events of the 20th century – the events are described throughout the film – and who has met historic figures the likes of Einstein, Franco, Stalin, Mao, Reagan and Gorbachev.
The film was presented at the last edition of the Berlin Film Festival and opens in cinemas on the 11th of July.
