On Thursday 30 November, audiences can enjoy the French film Elevator to the Gallows, starring Jeanne Moreau and Maurice Ronet, together with other names, and directed by Louis Malle in 1958.
This film is being shown in tribute to French actress and director Jeanne Moreau who passed away this year on 31 July. A woman who was an icon for a new generation of French cinema known as the Nouvelle Vague.
Julien Tavernier, a hero of the Indo-China war, works for industrialist Simon Carala and is the lover of his wife, Florence. To be able to live together, the lovers decide to kill the husband so that it looks like suicide, but things don’t turn out how they planned...
