In 1977, a group of residents of the Nou Barris district started a cultural and community project that went under the name of the Ateneu Popular 9 Barris. Who could have known that forty years later, they would still be going strong, battling it out through circus, critical culture, community and land? The celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the Ateneu Popular 9 Barris will imbue the usual programme this season and will offer a few surprises, taking memory, festivities and thought as the cornerstones.
