Oso Leone

Oso Leone

If there is an album that is creating expectation around here, it is Oso Leone’s third. They began to make a name for themselves with their eponymous debut (2011), which packed folk with Appalachian influences and saw them dubbed as the Majorcan Fleet Foxes. But their second record, Mokragora (2013), on which the acoustic warmth of the debut LP gives way to a much freer, more relaxed sound – and on which electronica, more than setting the limits, smashes them to pieces – saw them freed from beneath the shadow of Americana (no matter how pleasant, it was always a shadow), and Oso Leone deserve their place in the sun. So here we are, counting down the days before they release their third album. No doubt BAM will be soothed by the balsam that is listening to some of these new tracks live.
