Música urbana llatinoamericana

La Dame Blanche

She goes by the name of “The White Lady”, in French, as she lives in Paris, but Yaite Ramos really hails from Cuba. The latest in a long line of Caribbean musicians – she is the daughter of Jesús “Aguaje” Ramos, artistic director of the renowned Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club – she started out performing with the Parisian band Sargento García and the Argentinian outfit El Hijo de la Cumbia. In 2014, Ramos launched her career with the album Piratas, which she followed up with 2 (2016), and she will present several new tracks at BAM. In her unique musical style, the Cuban artist fuses hip hop, reggae, cumbia and other Latin American urban sounds. In short, an explosive musical cocktail to accompany her socially-engaged tales of the city. Dance plus food for thought.
